names & numbers

so i copied ash and did a cool numerology thing that is based on your name

You entered: Megan
There are 5 letters in your name. Those 5 letters total to 22

There are 2 vowels and 3 consonants in your name.

What your first name means:
Greek
Female
Strong and capable.
Your number is: 22

The characteristics of #22 are: The Master Builder, large endeavors, powerful force, a leader.

The expression or destiny for #22:Your Expression is represented by the master number, 22. The key word for the number 22 is that of master builder. This is a very hard number to fully live up to because it is capable of such great accomplishment. You no doubt will be extremely capable at whatever work you choose to do in life. You are especially equipped to handle large scale undertakings in the material world. Thus, the reference to master builder. The 22 possesses unique qualities and often very unorthodox approaches to problem solving. You are apt to be a very strong leader, and one who is not afraid to lead in new directions. Your perceptions are well beyond the norm.

When the 22 Expression operates within you in a positive vein, you are endowed with the most practical approach, but this practical or material sense is tempered with an awareness of non-material forces. You are very much the idealist, which the material skills to build and develop for the good of mankind. In a positive 22, the inner strength is clearly visible, and if developed, this strength will possess the charisma to attract a following.

If expressed in a negative manner, the 22 may accentuate unorthodox methods to the point of eccentricity. This negative expression can also be very dominating and overbearing.

Your Soul Urge number is: 6
With a number 6 Soul Urge, you would like to be appreciated for your ability to handle responsibility. Your home and family are likely to be a strong focus for you, perhaps the strongest focus of your life. Friendship, love, and affection are high on your list of priorities for a happy life. You have a lot of diplomatic tendencies in your makeup, as you a able to rectify and balance situations with an innate skill. You like working with people rather than by yourself. It is extremely important for you to have harmony in your environment at all times.

The positive side of the 6 Soul Urge produces a huge capacity for responsibility; you are always there and ready to assume more than your share of the load. If you possess positive 6 Soul Urges and express them, you are known for your generosity, understanding and deep sympathetic attitude. Strong 6 energy is very giving of love, affection, and emotional support. You may have the inclination to teach or serve your community in other idealistic ways. You have natural abilities to help people. You are also likely to have artistic and creative leanings.

If you have an over-supply of 6 energy in your makeup, you may express some of the negative traits common to this number. With such a strong sympathetic attitude, it is easy to become too emotional. Sometimes the desires to render help can be over done, and it can become interfering and an attitude that is too protective, rather than helpful. The person with too much 6 energy often finds that people tend to take advantage of this very giving spirit. You may tend to repress your own needs so that you can cater to the demands from others. At times, there may be a tendency in this, for becoming over-loaded with such demands, and as a result become resentful.

Your Inner Dream number is: 7
You dream of having the opportunity to read, study, and shut yourself off from worldly distractions. You can see yourself as a teacher, mystic, or ecclesiastic, spending your life in the pursuit of knowledge and learning.

thankful.

i try to be thankful for the things i have everyday, although the stresses of life sometimes let me forget. i'm glad to have thanksgiving, so i can remember the things that keep me sane and happy.

so i'm thankful for:
  • my family, old and new. my "old" family - mom, dad, brother, cito, grandparents, payten, aunts, uncles, and cousins. my "new" family - my awesome in-laws who have always treated me as one of their own. and my "brand new" family - the one that jesse and i have already started (and hope to expand in the very near future)
  • my home. i love to fill our home with memories of our wedding and honeymoon, of trips to the pumpkin patch, and of all our married "firsts"
  • my job. even though my job makes me crazy sometimes, i'm grateful to have a job in the tough economy right now, with a wonderful boss who is supportive and encouraging.
  • freedom. everyday when i see our flag, i feel fortunate to live in a place where i can work, shop, vote, and everything else that our soldiers and veterans fought to give me.
  • coffee. i cant live without it. and really, who would want to?
  • pop culture. harry potter, bones, the princess bride. all of these things let me escape to a world extremely not my own when i'm having a bad day, and encompass me in a happy bubble of fiction :)

november? oh well. meet my mom!

i officially suck at blogging. but its okay, because i've come to terms with it. as long as i'm okay with it, then you can be too.
please meet my mom :)

we are such nerds, but have so much fun. we sing and laugh more than anything else. she always listens to me yell when i've had a bad day and i always apologize for three days after that for yelling at her for no reason. she always forgives me :) we love to play gilmore girls, especially in the grocery store, pushing the shopping cart side by side, while always getting strange glances from other shoppers.
this picture was my 21st birthday and my first legal drink. with mom, of course. she's one of my best friends in the whole world and i love her more than any word (or showtune) can express :)

snowbrother

this is my little brother :)  he’s cute and funny and pretty cool as far as little brothers go.  we love john mayer and hating the yankees.

this was taken his freshman year (i think…) at wsu aka the land of ice and snow.  brother and his friends figured it would be fun to make a snow cave in their pj’s.  he makes me smile :)

cito louise

oops.  missed yesterday.  didn’t feel very well and hit the sack pretty early.  figured i’d blog early today before the day got away from me again!

butch

this is the cutest girl on the planet. aka my seester :) (she’s the short one, not the furry one…)

this picture is from one of the best days ever!  cito and i went to seattle to see RENT at the paramount!  we killed some time at westlake center mall and found a washington sports store and who was there?  butch t. cougar!  the show was beyond amazing, but spending time with my sister was even better.  even when we (*ahem* I…) tried to drive the wrong way down a one-way street, then got us lost in the projects.

she’s the funniest person that i know, and she always listens to me gripe and moan when i’m having a bad day, and knows the right things to say to make me feel better.  she knows me inside and out and i’m so proud that she’s turned out to be such an amazing person and i can’t wait to watch her throughout college and beyond while she changes the world.  one sarcastic comment at a time, just like her big sister taught her <3

bertsie-doodle

bertsiei think i may have posted this picture before, but that doesnt matter.  this is my grandma bert.  she’s an angel now, and i miss her like crazy.  i was especially missing her yesterday, so i wanted to share her today :)  she always let me eat peanut butter straight off of the spoon, taught me how to play cribbage, and make vegetable soup in the sink with her leftover scraps.

whenever i hear the national anthem, i have to hold back tears because she would always sing it under her breath, in that amazing grandma way, and i can still hear her.  she was always on my team and i could always count on her to play a whole saturday mornings’ worth of board games with me when i didn’t want to run errands with mom.

love you, bertsie <3

november!

okay, so i’m already late by one day, but since my blog goal last november was to make an entry everyday, i figured i’d try again this year.  but this year i’m gonna try and do it a little different.

i have about a jillion and six pictures saved on my computer, and each day this month, i’m going to pick one that i love and just give a little background on it.  since i don’t have all that much going on right now, other than work and trying to see my husband for more than five minutes everyday, i think this is a good filler, rather than boring anyone who reads this (and myself!) with the same ole coffee stand antics day after day.

131

this is on our honeymoon!  indian beach in oregon, between seaside & cannon beach.  we had alot of fun here :)  we found TONS of starfish and even a few sand dollars. it was sooo windy, so i stole jesse’s coat.  which made me feel cute :)   i love this picture because its a perfect example of “us” … jesse’s head is always cut off and (you can’t see it, but i know its true) i’m standing on my tippy toes.  he’s my lobster <3

april 25, 2009

wedding day!! despite the bumps and snags that we ran into in the week prior to the wedding, we made it in one piece. and i think i surprised myself more than anything. we were behind schedule getting ready and setting up, and i didn’t care. pictures started late, and i didn’t care. it was rainy and windy, and i didn’t care. my dress was dirty and wet from being outside. my pretty, fluffy, white dress. and i didn’t care. i’m not sure what got into me. much smaller things have sent me over the edge, but i think it was the magic of the day that had me calm and stress-free.

i’m positive i shocked my sister to her core though. while shopping together for favor-making materials, we found place cards at michaels and she asked if there was going to be a seating chart. i told her “no, i didn’t make a seating chart. who am i to tell people where to sit? i’m just the bride” REAL QUOTE. she stood in the aisle with her mouth hanging open and told me she never thought she’d hear those words come out of my mouth.

okay, lets back up a little bit. friday. last minute things – finding mom’s shoes, getting mani-pedis, and the rehearsal dinner. instead of lighting a unity candle at our ceremony, we decided to throw a message in a bottle out into the water. jesse’s mom came up with the idea and we LOVED it! we had to make sure that our bottle would float. since we were throwing it into the bay, we made our experiment authentic – complete with salt water and fish :)

006

007

it worked! it floats! inside we put a flamingo & a fishing lure to represent each of us, and a note to whoever find it. it said:

Megan Suzanne Pearce
&
Jesse Lee Smith

Were married on April 25, 2009
At the Lighthouse Bungalow
On Puget Sound
In Olympia, Washington

This bottle symbolizes
the start of our new life
together

If you find our message,
Please contact us at:
(jesse’s email)

p.s. please recycle this bottle :)

the rest of friday went pretty smoothly, with just the usual day-before primping and rehearsal. here are a few of my favorite pictures from friday:

sisters getting nails done :)

cutest ring bearer on the planet

045

bossy bride ;)

056

love my girls

023

gorgeous table decor, thanks to my amazing m-i-l :)

my ring bearer pillow was old, my dress was new, my mom’s pink pearls were borrowed, and my garter was blue. my garter was really fun. just a store-bought cheap-o from walmart, but i went to shipwreck beads and got a pewter salmon charm and spiced it up a little bit to make it more “us” :)

getting ready was really fun. crazy chaotic, but fun. all of my bridesmaids, and the rest of my girls all crammed in one tiny room full of makeup, jewelry, hair straighteners, curling irons, high heels, and gallons of hairspray

011

watching the red sox beat the yankees! it was a great day in more ways than one!

013

look at those grumpy clouds!

014

me right before the ceremony! i was excited and jittery and nervous (mostly because i didn’t want to fall down the stairs!)

it was a really weird feeling walking outside on the balcony, watching everything going on before it was time for me to start down the stairs. very surreal. it was more wedding day magic as the music started playing and the bridesmaids and groomsmen started walking down the aisle, the grumpy clouds lifted and the sun came out.

it may sound a little selfish, but as i was standing on the balcony, watching my grandparents walk to their seats, absorbing all the people that actually came to take part in something that wasn’t really that great in the grand scheme of the world, just significant in my little corner, i felt proud of myself. proud that everything had come together. all the flowers, the dresses, the friends and family. all of my visions and hopes for the day were out in front of me and i couldn’t have been more proud of the work that was put into getting to that point.

twitter3

i made it down the stairs injury-free! it was a really amazing feeling to get to the bottom and see my dad waiting for me, watching all those people stand up, just for me. i really felt like the princess i’ve always claimed to be.

scrapblog1

this was after meeka, our gorgeous & amazing rev, said “mawwage” from the princess bride. it was outstanding, i knew it was coming and i still cracked up :)

026

027

we wrote our own vows, and i was so happy with them :) it was really strange, but each of us wrote with the same style, even though we hadn’t talked with each other about how we were going to write them. we each mentioned a little about our past together and about sweet things that we do, like fishing trips and dancing in the kitchen. it was just perfectly “us”

after jesse threw our message in a bottle!

you may now kiss the bride!

mr. & mrs. jesse smith!!!

the reception was great, just standard toast, cake, dancing, but we had an amazing time :) here are some of my favorite pictures from the reception, most are pretty self-explanitory (and i think my all-time favorite – the pinky promise! i made jesse pinky swear not to smash cake in my face… he kept his word!)

(p.s. since i have downloaded windows live writer -thanks to my bff – this entry was super easy to do! i’ve been putting off wedding blogging because blogger is so touchy about pictures and alignment. so, now that its a piece of cake – more blogs to come! expect honeymoon, my trip to charleston, and our recent vacation to vegas to appear in the near future!)
